St
Kitts and Nevis
These are some of the
most unspoiled islands in the Caribbean, but they have nevertheless
had some important visitors.
The island of St. Kitts was discovered by the arch discoverer himself,
Christopher Columbus, who instantly named it after his favourite
person- himself- (St. Christopher- later shortened to, you guessed
it, St Kitts).
The larger of the two islands, St Kitts has white
sandy beaches, parasol palm trees and volcanic scenes, indicating
the manner of its birth. The tourist has
the choice of either a wonderful beach hotel or a more scenic, plantation
house in the lush, green interior.
Nevis also has wonderful beaches and hotels and scenery and was
the place where Lord Nelson married Fanny Nisbit in a village church.
