Mauritius
Lying in the Indian Ocean off the
eastern side of African, Mauritius is a land of sandy beaches,
waterfalls, plantations, game reserves and flower orchards.
The people are an enigmatic mix of Indian, Chinese, Creole and African decedents, all speaking their separate language and each other's, although the language of trade and government is English. So the tourist will have little trouble being understood. Tourism is a major industry and hotels are luxurious and beautifully run, with peace and quiet and good food as the watchwords.
For the active, there is sailing and water skiing. And for the shoppers, there are market towns, where you can buy those all important trinkets, that will always remind you of your stay in paradise.
