Jamaica
Lay back and think of absolutely nothing, while sipping
rum cocktails and listening to the sound of the water rolling the
soft sand- this perhaps is the major sport in this land of
tranquillity, where the sun never sleeps till the sky turns black
with night.
Basking in the blue Caribbean Sea, Jamaica has become a playground for honeymooners and holidaymakers from all over the world. English is the mother tongue, although there is still a spattering of other languages, including Patwa, which indicates its mixed and adventurous roots.
The beaches are coated in soft golden sand and water sports -windsurfing, sailing, scuba diving and snorkelling are popular. Market towns offer bargains for the shop-aholics.
And for the adventurous, there are raft rides, down the fast flowing Rio Grande. Inland, there are waterfalls and lagoons and mountains that are worth the climb.
For the party animals, Montego Bay is the place to go, where the
rum runs dark brown
or clear as a mountain stream and will burn the mouth, warm the
stomach and loosen
the inhibitions.
