Frequently Asked Questions

Corsage.....? Why wear them?

What is the corsage meant to signify and why do grooms wear it.

Like most traditions, the corsage started as something else and through time changed as the original meaning became lost in antiquity.
In Roman times, grooms like the bride would have been bedecked in garlands of flowers.

In 'days of old' when dragons were plenty, Knights wore their ladies colours, ( a piece of material, a handkerchief or a scarf, in a colour generally associated with her) as a declaration of her favour and love.
Now, grooms wear a flower that appears in the brides bouquet.

Flowers have meanings however. So, if the bride asks you to wear poison ivy or belladonna, then beware of her cooking......

Red chrysanthemums mean 'I love you'
